What is the QD (quick disconnect) system?

The QD (Quick Disconnect) mounting system consists of a combination of two mating parts, a push button swivel and QD socket.

The first part, the QD swivel, is simple to use. Just press the button to push the pin into the corresponding socket that is in your QD equipped product.

To remove, simply push the button and pull to remove.

QD swivels come standard on some straps or QD swivels can be purchased separately to convert over an existing strap to the QD system.

The second part, the QD socket, is machined out of stainless steel and to Industry Standards.

By offering the socket in stainless steel, over other materials, we do not have to compromise strength, quality, and corrosion resistance.

What if I already own a strap and want to convert it to the QD system?

You would need to pick what swivel style would work best for your application.

If you have a strap up to 1.250" wide, with no other type of connector on it, you will need the Oval loop swivel below.

If you have a strap that has a carabiner style connector, you will need the D loop swivel shown below.

Can I utilize equipment that does not have a QD socket and use it with a QD swivel strap?

Yes, you will need our QRC-1QD Quick Release.The QRC-1QD is designed to be used with any arca style equipment that does not have the QD socket already installed.
