Kirk Short Center Posts get you closer to your subject
Replacing the standard center post of your Gitzo tripod with a Kirk Short Center Post lets you get a lower view easily. These are not quite as stable as the Kirk Tripod Bases listed above, but they're easier to quickly interchange with the standard Gitzo center posts.

The Top plate is 2-3/4". It is machined from 6061T6 Aluminum. It also includes a set screw to lock the tripod head in place.
The post is carbon fiber and is 3-1/4" long.
