The construction and performance of the Gitzo product line is unrivaled. All Gitzo tripods are constructed with a patented process called HIS. This process uses a dual “screw thread and glue” jointing technology pioneered by Gitzo and designed to provide greater durability, compactness, and reliability.
Gitzo uses several types of materials and processes for their tripod manufacturing. The next generation carbon fiber – Carbon ‘6X’ – is constructed using a complex, 3-dimensional process that weaves 6 layers of carbon fiber into smooth, solid tubes for the tripod legs. Its 1mm wall thickness makes the Carbon 6X 30 percent lighter than the previous Gitzo carbon fiber without compromising strength or quality. The tried and tested original carbon fiber tubes feature a 1.5 mm wall thickness providing an even higher degree of stability in any weather conditions. Gitzo also offers a lightweight 1.5mm aluminum tube for stability, durability, and enhanced portability.
Gitzo has introduced a new Anti-Leg Rotation system, which means the tripod can be opened in less than 15 seconds. Loosen all the twist locks on each leg at the same time, then pull the leg and tighten the locks individually. This patented Anti-Leg Rotation system now features the G-Lock mechanism, a system designed to be stronger, faster, and more rigid than any other, which gives the tripod its rock solid structure. G-Lock, or Gravity Lock, increases the performance of the tripod as more weight is loaded.
All Gitzo tripods have a limited lifetime warranty on manufacturing defects. We do not ship Gitzo Tripods outside of the United States.
